Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan
It is matter of immense pleasure that the historical event of the 70th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, 2018 is being held at Delhi/NCR from 215t-23rd December, 2018 at Amity University Campus, Noida, with the Theme : "Pharma Vision 2030: Indian Pharma Industry - A Global Leader" bringing about the excellence of IPCA and Amity.
This Conference will be hosted by Indian Pharmacy Graduates' Association (IPGA), which is a Federating Association of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA) along with other four Associations namely; All India Drugs Control Officers Confederation (AIDCOC), Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association (IHPA), Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI).
In recent years, the profession of Pharmacy has shown exponential growth. In the current changing global scenario, harmonization of regulations in conformance with the International standards and practices is the need of the hour. Approximately 8,000 Indian and International delegates would be attending the Conference from fields of Pharmaceutical Industry, Research and Development, Regulatory, Drugs Control Department, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Hospitals, Community Pharmacies, Clinical Pharmacies, Pharmaceutical Marketing and Academics etc.
There is an urgent need to reinforce and rebuild standards with statutory bodies and to restore the confidence of pharmacy graduates. The quality of education has to be improved by industrial participation so that the stakeholders are accepted in the global pharmaceutical industry. The regulatory policies of India are to be harmonized, so that India becomes global leader in Pharmaceuticals including generics, API's, Medical Devices and Diagnostics.
5 years back, in 2013, IPGA in association with Amity University organized 65th Session of IPC with overwhelming response at the lush green, the State of the Art Amity Campus, Noida. The Congress was attended by more than 6,000 delegates, brilliant brains, highly successful and with great farsighted researchers, pharmacy graduates, highly successful professionals and the opinion makers and the Congress was named as Maha Kumbh of the Pharmacy people attended by all States of the Country as well as from different parts of the globe.
Also this time, the great emphasis would be given on the synergy of brains, the MISSION : CONNECT and the MISSION : OUTCOME and this would result in providing opportunity to each delegate to achieve in his/ her academic and research career as well as professional career to fulfil own dreams, however big these are. At the campus, IPR experts would be available to guide and advise for high quality publications as well as for filing of patents, so that each delegate can utilize these facilities and add to one's professional success and achievements. Also the Congress would lead to forge long term contacts with academicians, researchers and professionals with relevant Amity University brilliant colleagues.
We are pleased that the Central Council of IPCA has once again shown its confidence to host the 70th Session of IPC at Amity Campus, Delhi-NCR.
I specially mention the unmatched zeal, untiring efforts and hard work of Dr. Atul Nasa, Organizing Secretary -70th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, 2018/ Head of the Office and Controlling Authority, Drugs Control Department, Delhi and his colleagues to make this Congress highly successful, result oriented and outcome based.
I wish all delegates, the worthy speakers and all participants to have an enriching and fruitful time at this Congress and return with memorable experience.
